A 16-year-old boy has appeared in court charged with murdering a shop worker in north London.
Vijay Patel, 49, died on Sunday after an incident the previous night at Rota Express convenience store in The Broadway, Mill Hill.
It is thought the father-of-two was attacked after an argument over cigarette papers.
Three people are believed to have been involved in the incident.
The teenager, who cannot be named for legal reasons, spoke only to confirm his address and identity during an appearance at Willesden Magistrates' Court.
He is due to appear for a hearing at the Old Bailey on 12 January.
Police are still appealing for information from any potential witnesses to the incident.
