Carson Price: Drug dealer hunted after boy, 13, found dead in South Wales park

Police are hunting a dealer who they believe supplied illegal drugs to a 13-year-old boy who died after being found unconscious in a park.

Carson Price was discovered in Ystrad Mynach, South Wales, around a mile from his home.

Officers believe "illegal substances" contributed to his death and have now launched a plea to other youngsters to help piece together his last moments and identify who gave him the drugs.

Superintendent Nick McLain from Gwent Police issued the appeal on YouTube, saying he was "still awaiting" official medical confirmation of how Carson died.

"What we do know, tragically, is that Carson died in the public park and our inquiry does focus on illegal drugs being a contributing factor," he said.

Supt McLain said police believed Carson had the drugs delivered before he visited the park, described as "busy" and used by families.

"The supply of drugs can ruin people's lives and we ask residents that if they have any information regarding these suppliers, please contact us immediately," he added.

"I want to encourage people to talk about what has happened.

"You may have a teenage child that wants to talk, for example - and we all need to make sure they are given the confidence to come forward."

No arrests have yet been made.

A short statement from Carson's family described him as "kind and loving" and "a cheeky little boy".
